Painting with Fervor
Lot’s of things are heating up! The temperature outside is rising and my artwork is HOT. It’s the first time in 17 years I’m looking forward to the summer. I left Phoenix, Arizona last June and resettled in Bend, Oregon. I create my mixed media artworks using encaustic, which needs heat and ventilation (open windows) for safety reasons. The Tumor is VERY Little
This painting was inspired by cancer, atomic bombs and the loss of my aunt. My aunt was born in the 1950′s when the Atomic Energy Lab was sold, a toy that included cancer-causing uranium ore. I don’t think my aunt ever played with this toy but I picked up the color palette from the toy for my artwork because the colors were bright and pure.
